A huge update regarding the fitness of Kevin De Bruyne has emerged ahead of Manchester City’s clash against Arsenal.
On Wednesday night, City were held to a 0-0 draw at the Etihad Stadium by Italian giants Inter Milan in the Champions League.
During the match, Belgian midfielder De Bruyne was taken off due to injury at half-time as Ilkay Gundogan came on in his place.
Speaking after the match City boss Pep Guardiola said: “I don’t know, I haven’t spoken with the doctors yet. I will have more information when I do. We will assess him tomorrow.”
Ahead of this weekend’s Premier League clash between City and Arsenal, it has been claimed that De Bruyne will miss the match.
As reported by The Mirror, the 33-year-old will play no part this weekend after suffering what appeared to be a groin injury.
The report stated: “De Bruyne is understood to be a major doubt for Sunday’s clash with Mikel Arteta’s side, with City unwilling to risk playing him and potentially losing him for even longer.”

Speaking after the draw with Inter, defender Ruben Dias said: “The season has just started. When we came back from the international break, the pre-season had just finished. It’s very early stages, obviously we know what we are as a team and today I think we were on a very good level.
“We ended up not scoring, we could have, we had the chances, but that’s football and obviously there’s a lot of margin to progress from our side.”
The Portuguese added: “We knew they could be dangerous in many different scenarios. They have people who know very well how to keep the ball and also in transitions they can be very dangerous.
“We know them very well, especially since the final we played against them. We knew the different ways in which they can hurt us, but in the end we are who we are, we played the game we played and we dealt with it.”
