Arsenal fans have just figured out who may have to play the club’s next game after David Raya ‘injury’ and are in disbelief

Arsenal fans have worked out who may have to play in goal for their Carabao Cup clash with Bolton Wanderers on Wednesday following injury concerns for David Raya.

Raya was seen leaving the Etihad on Sunday with a significant limp and a bandage on his right leg following his spirited performance in Arsenal’s 2-2 draw.

Arsenal were so close to snatching all three points at the Etihad before John Stones’ last-gasp equaliser meant the points were shared between Pep Guardiola and Mikel Arteta.

Arteta’s men looked to be in control before the break, but a second yellow card for Leandro Trossard for kicking the ball away (again) completely changed the picture.

Raya continued his sensational form from the midweek against the reigning champions, as he made some fine saves to deny City in the second half, and even got a hand to the eventual equaliser.

However, with Raya now an injury concern Arteta has a difficult decision to make ahead of Arsenal’s first outing in the League Cup.

With the permanent departure of Aaron Ramsdale to Southampton, Arsenal were forced into the market for a goalkeeper as they signed Brazilian shot-stopper Neto on loan from Bournemouth, however, there is an issue.

Due to Neto’s participation in the Carabao Cup for Bournemouth, the goalkeeper will be unavailable to deputise for David Raya in Arsenal’s league cup matches.

This seemed an odd choice at the time with the Premier League top six almost always rotating between the sticks in the Carabao Cup, but if Raya is ruled out of the tie there is set to be a very unlikely debut.

Arsenal’s third-choice Tommy Setford also appears to be sidelined with a fitness issue having not been named in the squad since the international break.

Rather sensationally, 16-year-old Jack Porter, who was on the bench for Thursday’s 0-0 draw with Atalanta in the Champions League could be the only available keeper to Arteta.

Porter has made six appearances for Arsenal’s U18s and one for the U21s, as well as being capped four times for England’s U16 side.
