Man Utd are attempting to ‘hijack’ transfer that’d prove everything has changed under Sir Jim Ratcliffe

Manchester United are reportedly looking to continue their busy summer window by hijacking a transfer deal.

The Red Devils have been busy already after bringing in striker Joshua Zirkzee and defender Leny Yoro from Bologna and Lille respectively.

In addition, the likes of Jarrad Branthwaite, Matthijs de Ligt, Adrien Rabiot and Manuel Ugarte have all been linked with a move to Old Trafford.

Now, it has been claimed that United are looking to hijack AC Milan’s deal to sign midfielder Youssouf Fofana from French Ligue 1 side Monaco.

As reported by RMC, Fofana has agreed personal terms with the Serie A giants but United’s interest could throw a spanner in the works.

A report from Get French Football News stated: “The France international is indeed the subject of interest from both the Red Devils and the Rossoneri. However, the Principality side is not willing to entertain any offers below the €35m mark for the former Strasbourg man.”

It has been previously claimed that United are targeting a midfielder with the futures of Casemiro and Scott McTominay uncertain.

Brazilian star Casemiro has been heavily linked with a move to the Saudi Professional League but a move is yet to materialise.

Meanwhile, McTominay has been linked with clubs in the Premier League and also around Europe including the Turkish Super Lig.

Over the weekend, United won 2-0 against Scottish club Rangers in their second pre-season match.

Speaking after the match, manager Erik ten Hag said: “Pre-season is friendlies and I want to win every game so I was very disappointed on Monday, especially with the performance. That is even more important in pre-season – the performance. You want to grow and that is what we have seen today in comparison with Monday, which was a low standard.

“Today was much better, especially in the prospect of aggressiveness, which was much better. We were much more on the front foot and it was a team [effort] in both halves so, yeah, it was enjoyable to watch.”
