A shock Premier League club will make a move for Manchester United’s Antony in a transfer that has come out of nowhere.
Antony was strongly linked with a move away from Old Trafford before the transfer window slammed shut.
But a switch could still be on the cards, with the Brazilian out of favour under Erik ten Hag, who brought him to the club in a deal worth £86 million.
That’s according to Caught Offside, who claim Antony is being eyed by Newcastle United ahead of the January transfer window.
The report states Newcastle will make a move for the Brazilian at the start of 2025 if they fail to sign Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest.
Eddie Howe ‘appreciates’ Antony’s skill and believes he would be a ‘valuable’ addition.
Man United reportedly want £40 million to sanction a sale.
A transfer of £40 million would see Man United take a massive financial hit on Antony.
But the board would accept a transfer as the 24-year-old has fallen down the pecking order.
Antony has yet to start a game for the Red Devils this season, having made just one substitute appearance.
Last season, he played 38 games across all competitions, scoring only three goals.

Despite knowing him at Ajax, Ten Hag admitted Antony hasn’t shown his big potential.
“He has to prove a point, that he will do. And he has big potential. He hasn’t shown it lately, but I know what his talent is, and it’s about proving his talent, and it’s about him,” he said in a brutally honest verdict.
“And, yeah, he will probably get his opportunities, right? But, yeah, I think that was always the idea.
You have competition, and now he has to show himself on the training pitch, but also others because we have opportunities there.
“With [Amad] Diallo returning from an injury, he’s doing well in the training. Omari Forson is doing well. So we have options to fill in those positions. And it’s not set that Marcus Rashford has to play as a centre forward.”
