Fans spot what Harry Kane did before Bayern Munich trophy celebrations against Tottenham

Fans spotted what Harry Kane did before Bayern Munich lifted the Visit Malta Cup after beating Tottenham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The second friendly between the two sides took place in north London, after Spurs lost 2-1 to the German giants in Seoul last Saturday.

This time around, Ange Postecoglou’s side tasted defeat again, with first half goals from Dayot Upamecano, Serge Gnabry and Thomas Muller proving to be the difference for the visitors.

Bayern were able to lift silverware at the end of the match, with the Visit Malta Cup named after the presenting partner of the fixture.

Kane came off the bench as captain in the second half of the fixture, for what was his first appearance at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium since leaving Spurs to join Bayern last summer.

And while the Englishman didn’t get on the scoresheet, he was afforded the opportunity to lift a trophy at his former home ground as captain.

But Kane declined to do so, handing the armband to team-mate Joshua Kimmich instead.

And Spurs fans praised their club record goalscorer for his gesture, which you can see below.

One wrote: “Have nothing but respect for him, he’s fully COYS.”

A second said: “Saw that. He’s genuinely a really good bloke and I’m proud he’s one of our own.”

A third added: “Big respect to him, he knows it’s wrong at our ground plus he knows what he will get on social media for lifting a friendly trophy.”

A fourth wrote: “Silly as it may seem to some – class act right there.”

A fifth mused: “Fair play, even as an Arsenal fan rate that. What a gesture.”

And another admitted: “I thought class had left sports. I stand corrected.”

Tottenham kick off their Premier League campaign on Monday, August 19 when they take on newly-promoted Leicester at the King Power Stadium.
