Liverpool fans are getting very excited as rumours of incredible double £80m transfer raid heat up

Liverpool fans are excited by the possibility of an incredible £80 million double deal.

So far in the summer transfer window, it has been very quiet for Liverpool as the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United have all brought in new faces.

Arne Slot’s first match in charge of the club also didn’t go to plan as they were beaten 1-0 by Championship side Preston North End in a behind-closed-doors friendly last week.

With the new season fast approaching, it has been claimed that Liverpool are targeting two new signings.

As reported by Portuguese news outlet Correio da Manha, the Reds are set to test Sporting Lisbon’s resolve by bidding £25 million for defender Goncalo Inacio.

However, it is believed that Sporting are looking for a transfer fee of £38 million.

In addition, reports in Japan have stated that Liverpool are interested in Real Sociedad winger Takefusa Kubo.

It has been said that Liverpool are closing in on the deal to sign the 23-year-old with “negotiations are already in the final stages” for a deal worth €60 million.

The report also stated that Kubo has been selected as the long-term replacement for talisman Mohamed Salah.

Speaking after the defeat against Preston, Slot said: “After two weeks of tough training sessions it’s important to play a game as well. The most important thing is that everybody was fit before the game and they stayed fit during the game as well.

“So, it’s been a good two weeks. Unfortunately, the result today was not what we wanted, but they stayed fit, many of them got minutes [and] also a lot of young players got a few minutes so that was a good thing.”

Liverpool will now prepare for their pre-season tour of the United States, during which they will take on the likes of Real Betis, Arsenal and United.
