Manchester United could be about to sell a player who was involved in a dressing room bust-up last season.
After sinking to their lowest-ever Premier League finish last season, Man United have had a busy summer overhauling Erik ten Hag’s squad.
Leny Yoro, Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui have all been brought in, while midfielder Manuel Ugarte looks set to become the fifth signing of the summer.
United have offloaded the likes of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood among others, with Scott McTominay is set to complete a £25 million move to Napoli.
United are understood to be happy with their business this summer, but are in talks with Chelsea over potential deals for Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell.
There could be more outgoings too, with defender Victor Lindelof attracting interest from Serie A side Lazio.
United signed the the Swedish centre-back from Benfica in a £31m deal in 2017, but he has never really lived up to expectations.
Lindelof has now fallen behind De Ligt, Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, Leny Yoro and Jonny Evans in Ten Hag’s centre-back pecking order and could be sold should the right offer come in.
Like the departing McTominay, Lindelof was involved in a dressing-room bust up following United’s 3-1 home defeat to Brighton last September.
According to The Sun, Lindelof and Martinez ‘lost it’ with each other after a woeful performance at Old Trafford. Bruno Fernandes also allegedly confronted McTominay after United fell to a third loss in four games.
Lindelof made 19 Premier League appearances last season, although just 14 of those were starts.
The 29-year-old – who reportedly earns £170,000 a week at Old Trafford – is out of contract next summer, so United are keen to sell him before the window closes on Friday, August 30.
