Manchester United are on the verge of completing their third major signing of the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils have been one of the busier Premier League clubs in the current window, with a number of new faces arriving at the club this summer.
Joshua Zirkzee joined in a £36.5m move from Bologna earlier this month, with Leny Yoro later joining him in a deal worth up to £62m from Lille.
United now look set to complete a third signing, with Bayern Munich defender Noussair Mazraoui reportedly agreeing to join Erik ten Hag’s side.
Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna claims United have now ‘verbally agreed’ a deal for right-back Mazraoui, with the Premier League club set to pay around €25m (£21.1m).
However, it is also claimed the transfer will only go ahead if Aaron Wan-Bissaka agrees to join West Ham.
“Manchester United reached today a verbal agreement to sign Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich,” Aouna posted on X.
“Mazraoui has already said YES to MU. Only missing: an agreement on personal terms between West Ham and Aaron Wan-Bissaka
“MU and West Ham already have an agreement for him.”
West Ham had initially been favourites to sign Mazraoui, with the BBC reporting on Thursday that the Premier League club had agreed a fee for the Moroccan.
It was claimed that West Ham had agreed to pay Bayern an initial €16m (£13.47m) fee for the defender, with a potential further €3.5m (£2.95m) in add-ons.
But after those talks collapsed on Friday, United moved quickly to secure a deal for the 26-year-old.
Mazraoui began his professional career with Ajax, going on to make 137 appearances for the Dutch club while also scoring 10 goals.
He joined Bayern on a free transfer in 2022 and has played 55 times for the German club since, scoring once.
United will hope to wrap up a deal for the versatile defender before their next pre-season game against Real Betis on Thursday, with their final warm-up match coming against Liverpool on Sunday.
Ten Hag’s side will then face Manchester City in the Community Shield on August 10, with their opening Premier League game against Fulham to be played on August 16.
