Manchester United and Argentina star Lisandro Martinez appeared to have his social media account hacked.
The 23/24 season was one to forget for the Argentine after injuries meant he only made 14 appearances across all competitions for United.
However, Martinez made it back in time to help the Red Devils win the FA Cup in May.
Erik ten Hag’s men beat Manchester City 2-1 at Wembley thanks to goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.
After the season, Martinez was on international duty as he was part of the Argentina squad that won the 2024 Copa America.
On Tuesday night, it emerged that Martinez had his Instagram account hacked.
The hacker posted a picture of Lionel Messi holding the Ballon d’Or whilst wearing a mask that was edited onto the Argentine.
Along with the picture, a caption read: “Lamento que me hayan robado la cuenta,” which translates to “I’m sorry that my account was stolen.”
Martinez later posted on his story saying: “I recovered my Instagram account. Everything is under control now.”
United are currently on their pre-season tour of the United States.
Over the weekend, they lost 2-1 to Arsenal at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
Speaking after the match, Ten Hag said: “I think [the game] was a very good level for the third week of pre-season, from both sides, but in the first half I thought we were the better team.
“We scored a very good goal, a very good ball in behind from [Marcus] Rashford and then [Rasmus] Hojlund with a very good move and a finish, I was very pleased. We also created some more good chances and we then conceded the goal which was offside.”
He added: “It is a short slot and we are there [in San Diego] quickly, so we have to prepare the team, we must be ready and of course we have to recover from this and then go again [on Thursday].”
