Man Utd ‘want’ second PSG player in potentially incredible double transfer raid after ‘personal terms agreed’

Manchester United are reportedly targeting a second Paris Saint Germain player this summer.

So far this summer, United have signed Bologna’s Dutch international striker Joshua Zirkzee and French starlet Leny Yoro from Ligue 1 outfit Lille.

The likes of Jarrad Branthwaite, Adrien Rabiot, Matthijs de Ligt and Manuel Ugarte have also been linked with a summer move to Old Trafford.

Now, it has been claimed that United are eyeing another PSG star.

After showing interest in Uruguayan midfielder Ugarte, it has been reported by French news outlet L’Equipe that United are now pursuing a move for Dutch forward Xavi Simons.

The 21-year-old impressed during his loan spell at German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig during the 23/24 season and also caught the eye at Euro 2024.

It is believed that Parisians rejected a bid of €50 million from the Premier League for Simons last summer and expect a bidding war to commence this time around.

On Saturday afternoon, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano gave a brief update on Ugarte’s potential move to United.

He wrote on social media: “Manuel Ugarte said yes to Man United and also agreed on personal terms few days ago, as revealed.

“Negotiations ongoing between PSG and Man United, it will take some days before entering into key/final stages.”

A few days earlier, Romano said: “Manchester United have agreed on personal terms with Manuel Ugarte. Contract terms discussed, player keen on moving to United even without Champions League football.

“Club-to-club talks continue with PSG, as more clubs also inquired. Same agent as Leny Yoro: Jorge Mendes.”

Upon signing for United, Yoro said: “Signing for a club with the stature and ambition of Manchester United so early in my career is an incredible honour.

“Since my first conversations with the club, they set out a clear plan for how I can develop in Manchester as part of this exciting project, and showed a lot of care for me and my family.”
