Three Chelsea stars ‘barred’ from the first team as Enzo Maresca makes brutal call

Three Chelsea players have been forced to train with the club’s U21 team with one star reportedly barred from the first-team facilities.

The Blues are gearing up for the 24/25 season under the guidance of new boss Enzo Maresca who replaced Mauricio Pochettino in the summer.

Chelsea have been busy again in the transfer window as they have so far brought in the likes of Marc Guiu, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Filip Jorgensen, Omari Kellyman, Aaron Anselmino, Renato Veiga, Caleb Wiley and Tosin Adarabioyo.

In terms of outgoings, the likes of Ian Maatsen, Lewis Hall and Omari Hutchinson have all departed.

Midfielder Conor Gallagher is closing in on a move to Spanish La Liga side Atletico Madrid and a few other Chelsea stars could leave before the end of the month.

As reported by The Telegraph, defender Trevor Chalobah has been barred from using Chelsea’s first-team facilities.

Meanwhile, strikers Armando Broja and Romelu Lukaku join Chalobah in training with the U21 team.

The report stated: “Telegraph Sport can reveal that other than training with Chelsea’s development squad, Chalobah has been kept away from the first-team building at the club’s Cobham training base.

“Another academy graduate, Armando Broja, together with Romelu Lukaku, is among the group of senior players, with Chalobah, who are training with Chelsea’s youngsters.”

Chalobah has been linked with a move to Aston Villa and Crystal Palace and reportedly rejected a move to Nottingham Forest last summer.

It is believed that Chelsea have set an asking price of £25 million for the defender.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are said to be closing in on another new signing, after agreeing a deal for Wolverhampton Wanderers star Pedro Neto.

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano wrote on social media: “Pedro Neto has arrived in London, medical tests booked on Saturday as new Chelsea player. Understand Neto will sign contract valid until June 2030 plus option for further season.

“CFC believe he’s perfect to play on both wings, flexible and talented to add quality.”
